The 65th annual Forestry Field Day, a co-production of Maine Woodland Owners and Maine Tree Farm, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at the woodlot of the 2019 Outstanding Tree Farmer – Don Newell and his family. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. at 328 Ward Hill in Unity; the 250-acre woodlot extends from Unity across the town line into Thorndike.
Among the highlights:
Explore the stewardship practices of the hosts;
Learn about possible financial assistance with forest conservation projects;
Participate in a “Forests for Maine Birds” workshop;
Introduce your pre-K to 8th grade children to forest flora and fauna through Project Learning Tree activities;
